A Tradition of Hands. A Thread of Love.

Our Mission

Our first human promise is to tend the sacred purpose of life.  We stand between Heaven and Earth to praise the source and unity of this gift.  We have forgotten we are custodian to this sacred world, that our purpose is neither self-service nor personal or national security. Our errors leave the soul of our Earth and of humanity in great peril and need.

The Unseen Hand: Medicine from Antiquity is a refuge in this time and place.  We remember an intimacy with life that has been forgotten. By the grace of God, we may also seed disciplines and gifts for the life yet to come. We are a non-profit school dedicated to preserving and teaching an esoteric tradition of light, medicine to benefit individuals, communities and our planet.  Like a midwife, this alchemical tradition assists the force and intelligence of life, and like a mother, gives of Herself for the regeneration of All.

We train physicians, artists, stewards of land and hearth from all traditions to develop capacity, tenderness and the obedience to Love. This Tradition addresses the divinity at the heart of life itself and through the spirit treats deep schisms in the human body, mind and spirit.  Much of our modern illness originates in these human fault lines.

Teaching and treatment work hand in hand to reach the root cause of illness.  The basis for our practice is Classical 5 Element Acupuncture and Taoist Alchemical Medicine. As well, we are students of the western alchemical traditions of healing through incubation, dreams and the direct revelation of the Divine through the arts.

Masters of all hermetic traditions have observed and watched over Life.  Reflected from heart to heart, teacher to student from the beginning, these practices awaken the senses, purify the heart, fire the ethic and purpose of each soul.  Light upon Light.*  The light of Heaven roots through the light hidden in the darkness of our material world.  Alchemy quickens the revelation of life.  In every generation there are those few who follow this fragrance in search of Truth.  The Teachers that come forward lend heart and hand to anyone willing to be remembered in this service.

Embedded within this Tradition are the forgotten Songs of Creation.  These Songs were given in our earliest days to govern and restore life.  Heaven’s call and Earth’s echo, these Songs spring forth from the great dialogue of love, engendering life and nurturing the evolution of humans and the Earth. Both teacher and task the Songs restore harmony, divine proportion, the name and authority to each point and line in creation. For many thousands of years the Songs were embodied in the medicine, music, worship and the agricultural and hunting practices of the people.  They were taught and articulated through the heart of the shaman or spiritual leader responsible for the well being of the people and the earth.  Through these Songs, the unique light given to the human is awake and rooted. The simplicity of life is praised.

These Songs come forward in time now.  We are each and all given to the task of guardianship of this life.  This Tradition teaches us how to remember this task. We are, in this labor, restored to sanity, the joy of life.

We remember that the human heart is the universal translator, the meeting place of the worlds.

We remember our Creator, our Source and Destination.  So great is the mystery of this love, one could continually praise the magnificence of Her/His world for 1000 years and never once repeat a word. Outwardly to be with the people, inwardly to be with God.

We are a lineage of carvers, weavers, poets. We give our hands. We hold needles that stitch, that open, that insert, that lift, that sever.  As above, so below.  Our hands are crafted, to serve the Creator, the Tao, the intelligence of love that defies all word. From whence we come and to whence we return. Healers, sculptors, gardeners, scribes. Hands to reveal the essence of Creation, to mend the atrocities of error. True spiritual healing. We wash our hands, keep washing our hands. Wash them of all that we have done, for all that must be done. Keep washing our hands, with light, in this time of darkness. Our hands are being written, and in the writing, are unwritten.  We are given new hands.  Lifelines, heartlines, songlines of the hand.

*God is the Light of the heavens and earth.  / His light may be compared to a niche  / wherein is a lamp /the lamp in a glass / the glass as it were a glittering star  / kindled from a Blessed tree / an olive that is neither of the East nor of the West  / whose oil would almost shine forth / though no fire touches it /light upon light / Allah guides to Allah whom Allah wills. / Light Sura (Qur'an 24:34-54)
